Design Week

Design Week has been my go-to resource for the latest design news and trends. As a designer, it provided an inspirational break between jobs at around 2:30 when the afternoon slump kicked in.

I was first introduced to DesignWeek in college, where I used to read the latest paper edition in the library. They have a rich legacy, which you can explore here to learn about their 38-year history, including the switch from print to an online magazine in 2016.

I was saddened to hear that this design pillar was closing in January. It’s a shame we were losing such an established resource, especially one that has built a great platform for showcasing and informing the broad spectrum of design.

I was delighted to see that Design Week is returning. It will be interesting to see if they keep the website open to all or explore subscription options to encourage more in-depth reading.

Whatever form it takes, it’s great to hear that Design Week is coming back. Judging by the comments on their website, I’m not the only one happy to see Design Week return to inform, inspire, and create a platform for the creative industry to communicate.
